800 × 600 pallet (half Euro pallet): dimensions, weight and specs
An 800 × 600 mm pallet (31.5 × 23.6 in) is the half Euro pallet, half of a 1200 × 800. EPAL makes two versions: the EPAL 6 (144 mm tall, 750 kg safe working load) and the EPAL 7 (163 mm tall, 500 kg), both about 9.5 kg. It is used for retail display and small loads.

The 800 × 600 mm pallet (31.5 × 23.6 in) is the half Euro pallet: half of a 1200 × 800 Euro pallet. It is used for retail floor displays, small store deliveries and light, compact loads across Europe. EPAL standardizes it as the EPAL 6 and the EPAL 7.
What are the dimensions of an 800 × 600 pallet?
An 800 × 600 pallet is 800 mm (31.5 in) by 600 mm (23.6 in). Two fill a Euro pallet footprint side by side, and four fill a 1600 × 1200 area. Height depends on the model: 144 mm (5.7 in) for the EPAL 6, 163 mm (6.4 in) for the EPAL 7. CHEP pools a wooden and metal 800 × 600 pallet listed at 163 mm.

Figures are from EPAL. The EPAL 6 is a small block pallet with the same 9-block layout as a Euro pallet. The EPAL 7 uses 3 blocks and steel angles, which gives it a taller entry for pallet jacks. You can model a Euro-style half pallet by starting from the EPAL 1 template and resizing it in the designer.
How much does an 800 × 600 pallet weigh?
EPAL gives about 9.5 kg (21 lb) for both the EPAL 6 and EPAL 7. Plastic 800 × 600 display pallets are lighter and vary by model. See pallet weight.
How much weight can an 800 × 600 pallet hold?
EPAL rates the EPAL 6 at 750 kg and the EPAL 7 at 500 kg safe working load. Non-EPAL half pallets carry whatever rating their makers assign. Half pallets are usually loaded far below these figures because the load height, not the weight, is the practical limit. See pallet load capacity.
Who uses 800 × 600 pallets?
- European grocery and discount retail: pre-built floor displays that go straight from the truck to the sales floor. See display pallet.
- Food and drink: EPAL notes the EPAL 7's use in food and drink retail.
- Small store deliveries where a full Euro pallet is too big.
Fit in trucks and containers
Half pallets usually travel in pairs on a 1200 × 800 footprint, so a 13.6 m European trailer takes 33 pairs on the floor. The table above counts single 800 × 600 pallets in North American trailers and ISO containers.

Frequently asked questions
What is the size of a half Euro pallet?
800 × 600 mm (31.5 × 23.6 in). Two side by side make a 1200 × 800 Euro pallet footprint.
What is the difference between EPAL 6 and EPAL 7?
Both are 800 × 600 mm and weigh about 9.5 kg. The EPAL 6 is 144 mm tall with 9 blocks and a 750 kg safe working load. The EPAL 7 is 163 mm tall with 3 blocks and steel angle brackets, and a 500 kg safe working load, per EPAL.
Is a half Euro pallet the same as a Düsseldorf pallet?
Both are 800 × 600 mm, and the names are often used loosely for any half pallet. The Düsseldorf pallet is traditionally a display pallet with a wide overhanging top deck, and the EPAL 6 and EPAL 7 are EPAL's standardized half pallets. Ask for the exact type.

- SizesHalf pallet: dimensions and uses (48 × 20 and 800 × 600)A half pallet is half of a region's standard pallet. In North America it is 48 × 20 in (1219 × 508 mm), half of a 48 × 40. In Europe it is 800 × 600 mm (31.5 × 23.6 in), half of a 1200 × 800 Euro pallet, made by EPAL as the EPAL 6 and EPAL 7. Half pallets are used mainly for retail floor displays.
- Sizes1200 × 800 pallet (Euro pallet): dimensions, weight and specsA 1200 × 800 mm pallet (47.2 × 31.5 in) is the Euro pallet, standardized as EPAL 1 / EUR 1 and one of the six ISO 6780 sizes. The EPAL 1 is 144 mm tall, weighs about 25 kg, and has a safe working load of 1,500 kg. It is the standard pallet for European retail and food logistics.
- Sizes600 × 400 pallet (quarter pallet): dimensions, weight and specsA 600 × 400 mm pallet (23.6 × 15.7 in) is the European quarter pallet: a quarter of a 1200 × 800 Euro pallet. Most are plastic display pallets or wheeled dollies. CHEP's plastic quarter display pallet is 600 × 400 × 145 mm, weighs 2.2 kg and is rated 250 kg safe working load.
- SizesEuropean pallet sizes: Euro, industrial, half, quarter and CP palletsThe standard European pallet is the 1200 × 800 mm Euro pallet (EPAL 1), 144 mm tall. The 1200 × 1000 mm industrial pallet (EPAL 2 and EPAL 3) is the second standard. Retail uses the 800 × 600 half and 600 × 400 quarter pallets, and the chemical industry uses the CP1 to CP9 pallets.
- TypesEuro pallet (EUR / EPAL 1): dimensions, weight and constructionThe Euro pallet (EUR or EPAL 1) is a licensed European block pallet measuring 1200 × 800 × 144 mm (47.2 × 31.5 × 5.7 in). It weighs about 25 kg (55 lb), has 11 boards, 9 blocks and 78 nails, and carries a safe working load of 1,500 kg (3,307 lb). Only EPAL licensees may build and mark it.

- Sizes1200 × 1000 pallet: dimensions, weight and specsA 1200 × 1000 mm pallet (47.2 × 39.4 in) is the UK standard pallet and the industrial pallet in Europe and Asia. It is one of the six ISO 6780 sizes. EPAL makes it as the EPAL 2 (162 mm, about 35 kg) and EPAL 3 (144 mm, about 30 kg); CHEP's UK wooden pallet is 162 mm tall and 28 kg.
- Sizes1140 × 1140 pallet (CP3, CP8, CP9): dimensions, weight and specsA 1140 × 1140 mm pallet (44.9 × 44.9 in) is the square chemical-industry pallet, made as the CP3 (138 mm tall), CP8 and CP9 (156 mm tall). It carries drums, octabins and bulk bags, and two fit side by side inside an ISO shipping container.
- Sizes1100 × 1100 pallet (T11): dimensions, weight and specsA 1100 × 1100 mm pallet (43.3 × 43.3 in) is the Asian standard pallet, known as T11. It is one of the six ISO 6780 sizes and the standard pool pallet in Japan (JIS Z 0601, 1100 × 1100 × 144 mm), and is also a national standard size in Korea and China.
- Sizes1165 × 1165 pallet (Australian standard): dimensions, weight and specsA 1165 × 1165 mm pallet (45.9 × 45.9 in) is the Australian standard pallet, defined by AS 4068 and one of the six ISO 6780 sizes. Pooled CHEP and Loscam versions are hardwood block pallets about 150 mm tall. It was sized for Australian rail containers and fits ISO containers poorly.
- Sizes1200 × 1200 pallet: dimensions, weight and specsA 1200 × 1200 mm pallet (47.2 × 47.2 in) is a square metric pallet used for drums, bulk bags (FIBCs), IBCs and heavy industrial loads. It is not one of the six ISO 6780 sizes. It is roughly the metric counterpart of the 48 × 48 drum pallet, and it is too wide to fit two across an ISO container.
